Heart-led ceremonies,
created with empathy and support when you need it most.

When you are planning a ceremony to say goodbye to a loved one...you need to feel you are in safe hands with someone who will create and deliver the ceremony that fulfils your wishes and brings comfort.

With caring, respectful kindness and support - this is what I offer you.

'What will survive
of us
is love.'

'Good Grief'

Helping you create the ceremony you choose
Whether the ceremony is a cremation or burial, whether it is a memorial or scattering or interment of ashes, I help you say the words you want to say as you remember your loved one.

Do you have music, poems or readings that are meaningful to you and your family? We can incorporate those. I can also help you with suggestions for this content as well if you wish. All this can include as much or as little religious or spiritual content as feels right for you.

You might also want to include special touches in the ceremony that are unique and personal to you and your loved one, such as incorporating keepsakes or artwork.

I will work alongside you to help you create the ceremony you choose - your way.

What is my role as your celebrant?
If you are organising a funeral through a funeral director I will work very closely indeed with them, in fact we are all part of a team that comes together to support you. It is likely that you might have been referred by them to me. If this is the case I will call you as soon as I can to arrange a meeting with you.

If you have found your way to me before contacting a funeral director and you would like me to act as the celebrant, please pass on my details to your funeral director and again I will work closely with them. Or it might be that you are organising a memorial service, in which case I will of course work with you directly.

Whether you are organising a funeral or a memorial service, the next steps are the same - which I've laid out below.

We start by having a meeting, where I spend a couple of hours with you. I will listen intently and make notes while you tell me about the life of your loved one, so I can be sure to truly reflect the essence of them in the ceremony to honour their life.

After our meeting, I will create a draft script for you to look at - to check that all the details are correct and the ceremony will create the atmosphere that you are hoping for. Feel free to amend or change anything. This is your ceremony and the choices are all yours. I am there to bring it all together and deliver it.

On the day of the ceremony, I will be there to greet you and make sure the ceremony runs smoothly, so you feel in safe hands. I will lead the ceremony with warmth from the heart and with the sense that I am the spokesperson for the words you want to say.

After the ceremony, you will receive a beautifully presented copy of the script.

Cost
For a funeral, I often be engaged and paid by the funeral director that you are working with. So I'm giving a guideline price here - which is around £215 for funeral ceremonies. Or you can arrange a funeral directly with me and the price will be the same.

If you are organising a memorial ceremony my charge is also £215.

For a scattering of ashes ceremony, I charge £75
